At last she spoke

At last Jihan EL-Sadat spoke about the Iranian documentary. At last she said something about the Iranian documentary that attacks her husband and the father of her children yesterday.
At last she spoke when she realized how bad she is when her step daughter stood and took the stand to defend her father.
The former first lady spoke on the phone to popular TV show "El-Beit Batik" on air saying that she would not sue the Iranian production company and that the film would not change anything from El-Sadat position in Egypt. {I agree in the last point}

She said that she respected the State's position from the film from total rejection and objection.
She also explained from her point of view why the Iranians hate her husband referring to his decision to host the Shah in exile. She explained why her husband hosted the Shah. The Shah helped Egypt in 1973 by providing Oil.For those who do not know the 1973 war and the decision of the Arab countries to boycott Oil export to the West helped Iran a lot according to former Empress Farah Diva's first memories published in 1970s.
Jihan's position again is too weak in my point of view compared to Ruqaya El-Sadat whose lawyer "Samir Sabri" is in Iran currently suing the production company.
From another side this is a little correction I should mention ,the documentary name is not the "Execution of a Pharaoh" but "34 bolts in the body of the pharaoh"
Also It is worth to say that I do not like how the Nasserites ,nationalists, socialist and leftists are covering the issue. Of course they hate El-Sadat and they found a new opportunity to express their hate.
Already I do not like how the Al-Dostor and Sout Al Oma newspapers are covering the issue. Ibrahim Eissa shocked me from two days ago .Abd El-Haim Kandeel who once described El-Sadat as the greatest traitor found an opportunity to express his hate in Sout Al Oma as its new Chief in editor. Last Monday the popular ex-independent current Nasserite weekly published a whole page undermining the documentary. They also published very provoking poem for Ahmed Fouad Nagm in which he praised Al-Islamboly.
One day the truth will come and the truth about assassination of El-Sadat will be revealed , it will be a shock for many and many of those who were happy for the death of El-Sadat will feel ashamed.
El-Sadat made mistakes for sure and in his last 3 years he was not the same man he used to be thanks to the entourage surrounded him but he should not be attacked like this.
The Nasserites always get angry when someone Criticize Nasser so why they are so surprised when someone stands to defend El-Sadat or the Royal Family.

sadat4sss

The human is so strange ,laughing minutes away from death.

It is not about the Egyptian-Iranian relations this time. It is about ethics and manners

  1. I guess the buzz around the Sadat film is growing more these days as every party is using it for his own sake. Didn't you read Al Ahram 2 or 3 days ago and Usama Saraya's article about Iran and the movie. I guess the regime finds it their best chance just to attack Iran and the film as it can serve their purposes of resisting Iran's influence.

I agree with you that Jihan's reaction is weak specially after her silence which made here look weird.

  2. Yeah I read Gee , it was a good opportunity for the regime to enforce its attack , the Iranians should know better
this is what logic says , they should win the people´s support to their side against any American provocation or possible Israeli attack.
Jihan should have not spoken at all ,it was better for her with her weak reaction

  4. @Zeinobia; I really don't understand the reason for your absolute conviction that the assassination of president Sadat was done by a larger group of army officers whom all conspired to kill the poor guy who was the hero of war and peace. Why we as people always think about conspiracy theory when a famous personality gets killed. Anyway it is just a thought that came to my mind while reading your post. I am sure the reason has something to do with the fact that president Sadat had too many enemies and since in your opinion he was considered a great president, it is plausible to assume that the only way for Sadat to be killed on the day of his victory celebration and among his arm forces was through a larger mysterious plot. This reminds me with the assassination of president Kennedy by Lee Harvey Oswald and all the conspiracy theories that have been suggested by a majority of Americans. I would have believed a conspiracy theory if the guys on the right and left of president Sadat were not sitting in their positions while the truck carrying Al-Islambouly and his group approaching them. I just don't believe the story about the officers in charge of the ammunition-seizure rules were on hajj to Mecca.
About the Iranian film, I think the best response came from one scenarist (I don't remember his name) who began writing the scenario of a new film titled Al Khomeiny, the Imam of blood or the blood bath Imam. This response can really make the Iranians mad but also can provoke lots of shiites if the film is well produced.
Final word about president Nasser and Sadat, everyone is entitled to his or her opinion of the late presidents. However, I find it offensive for a blogger like Wael Abbas to continually use cuss words against Nasserites in his blog and you seem not to mind his disgusting filthy words that he constantly uses.

  5. @N.American Princess, it is so so strange.

@Hazem , when I believe in a conspiracy involves the big officers is not because of the reasons you mentioned but because of the strange circumstances that surround this incident. When the interior minister then "Nabawy Ismail" receives a note in the parade before 15 minutes about possible attack and did nothing about ,in fact he denied except Hassan Abu Pasha was the one who sent to him and the TV Cameras showed him reading something like a small note in the parade and he acted as if nothing was happening ,then I must think again and again
Jihan El-Sadaat hinted from a distance , Talaat El-Sadaat spoke about it directly and look what happened to him.
still there will be conspiracy theories if there is transparency and all the details were revealed
about the opinions, well I am not accountable about other bloggers' use of words with my all respect , he is wrong in using these words still the Nasserites unfortunately not all of them are polite either

  6. @Zeinobia; El Nabway Ismail has never been my favorite kind of person. His swiss bank account needs to be checked out to trace the sources of his depsoit. To say the truth, I remember vividly that El Nabawy Ismail said once that he warned president Sadat before the parade and asked him to cancel it. He even offered him a protective vest after sadat insisted on going to the parade but he refused (typical of Sadat's stubborn head). beside a relative of mine who was in the military intelligence at the time denies any bigger conspiracy plot. Talkin about Talaat El Sadat, It is enough to know that his father Essmat El Sadat was the one who started the illegal commission parade that we are witnessing right now in our beloved Egypt.
