Egypt 1952 Egypt 2006 not big difference after all

The 54 anniversary of the Revolution is today and I look to it , to yesterday to Egypt in year 1952 before the night of July 23rd and look back to our day to our Egypt 2006 and see no difference what so ever .

Strange the same conditions whether internally or externally

Some in fact many and I am one of them believe that Egypt before the revolution was the ideal Egypt ,it was the ideal democratic country until the famous crisis of 1954 , but I am not talking about the revolution and pros and cons of the military rule more I am talking about the factors that led to the revolution 1952 , to be precise the factors or the reasons that led to the formation of the Free Officers movement in the army and also the factors/reasons that made the Egyptian People to accept it and change it from a movement to a revolution because of their support.

My mom's grand father was half Turkish-half Egyptian , an Ex-Bah , he hated Nassar and all other co-officers but he admitted several times to my mom that we were in need to that movement .

Anyway as I said I look between yesterday and today ,and find no big difference , correction they are typical ,in fact believe or not some of the cons of before the revolution 1952 were much better then now

  • Look to Egypt before 1952 "The cons"

  1. Egypt was partially under the British occupation.

  2. Egypt's Economy was under the foreign control ,its majority.

  3. Egypt was an agriculture country ,very few manufacturing activity, a raw material producers

  4. Egyptian Army was weak .

  5. The discrimination between the social classes with a gap between them

  6. Foreigners got a special treatments

  7. The police was unjust and cruel to people

  8. Corruption in parties

  9. The Egyptian Palace was full of moral scandals

  • Now Look back to Egypt 2006 :

  1. Egypt is under a complete American control .

  2. Most of the Egyptian Economy is under Foreign control "64%" exactly in the most important sectors , the rest is wasted

  3. Egypt is still a raw material producer and exporter check the WTO's Egypt profile page.

  4. Egyptian Army is silent in a disturbing way.

  5. Discrimination between Social classes , the gap between classes are exceeding and the product of the 1930s in Egypt the middle class is in its way to extinct between the Low Class and the high class

  6. Foreigners got a special treatment especially if you got an American passport.

  7. The Police is still unjust and cruel to the people.

  8. Parties are fake and corrupted

  9. The Egyptian presidential palace is full of financial and political scandals .

Now to more explanation ,

  • Egypt 1952 was under a partial control of the British authorities ,they had a base in the Canal , the biggest British military base in the world then ,yet to say the truth on the opposite of the revolution Propaganda both the Egyptian Government and Egyptian Palace were independent from this control , remember El-Nahas Basha when he cancelled 1936 treaty and another striking truth the M.I.5 announced from few years ,King Farouk was a spy to the Nazis and this made an enmity between him and them and thus the coming of the free officers was a relief for them ,say what do you want from how the king was a puppet in the hands of GB which wasn't true and I will tell look how Egypt 2006 became under complete American control without the existence of the American army in Egypt "well there are some people who told me that there is over 15,00 marines in Egypt ,I don't know how accurate is this information" , if the British had the largest Military base ,America now got the biggest embassy in the world in Egypt , already they are building much more bigger embassy in Iraq . Our political and Economic decisions are all pre-made in Washington in a disgusting way , we are called in the Arab World the 51st state !!

  • One of the bad things in before the revolution is that most the economy was under a foreign control ,but the good thing that most of those foreigners were living in Egypt so by a way or another our capital money was still in Egypt, now in Egypt 2006 64% of the Economy is in the hand of foreigners whether westerns or Arabs , the rest of 32% of the Economy is in the hands of the NDP members who also steal money and put it in the banks of Switzerland and Bahamas !!

  • Egypt 1952 was still an agriculture country then , a fact no one can deny ,all the factories were not specialised in heavy industries like Iron and so on , it is one of the advantages of the Revolution was the care of the heavy industries like the Iron and Aluminium , Now in 2006 the factories are being sold with then its real value , the heavy industries is monopolised by NDP tycoons like Ahmed Ezz ,other industries like Easement is being killed for the sake of imported products , Our main export is still the crude Oil which is a raw material . in Other words we are still a raw material producing country.

  • The Egyptian Army was quick in 1952 ,very weak and that's why the Army officers began to rebel , I don't know much about the conditions of the Egyptian Army in 2006 , in fact since the Gulf war and no one knows anything about its power and strength except from the official government sources which are the least credible source in the country , I don't know why I have the feeling that the army is beginning marginalised now ,it is the hidden power , we are said to be a military country but where is that army !!?? I feel that our Army is weak yes thanks to the surroundings happening the region .

  • To the Social classes , look to the Social classes then and now , no difference , very rich class and very poor class , the only difference then in 1952 there was a big wide middle class which now in 2006 became from the under extinction threats specie . There are three Egypts now , one for the rich , check the lifestyle magazines like Charisma,DG and other strange magazine which makes you feel that you live in other country , also there is another Egypt for the poor ,a complete different world ,you can feel if you went to poor areas and country side and of course there is Egypt for the educated middle class who only watch the other two world in astonished mixed feeling.

  • The foreigners are still got privileges in this country ,in 1952 they had it and in 2006 they have it , even if you are an Egyptian but got another passport ,sometimes this gives you privileges more the Egyptians with one passport !!

  • in 1952 before the revolution the Egyptian police was a savage one, the famous Abbas Bridge is a good example , in 2006 the Egyptian police is a still a savage police the demonstration in solidarity with judges in last April 2006 is a great example !!

  • in 1952 Parties were all corrupted except El-Wafad which also had its own problems at that time but they had presence in the Egyptian Public street , now in 2006 they are even much worst, we got parties like NDP ,and the new Wafad :)

  • The Egyptian royal palace was full of moral scandals , the queen mother is a sex addicted , the sister's king ran away with a Christian man , the king himself likes to have the fame as womaniser ......etc , in the Egyptian presidential Palaces everyone knows about the financial scandals and using of influence and corruption there

It is frustrating even to know with such similarities life was much better in 1952 at least the streets were clean ,People were polite and elegant ,and prices were were much cheaper , you can buy a palace in Zamalak with 3000 Egyptian pounds and the Egyptian pound then was equal to 5 American dollars :)
