Rumors ,Rumors,Rumors

Rumors ,Rumors Rumors

Rumors,Rumors,Rumors

They say that there are gangs kidnapping Women

Rumors,Rumors

We are bankrupted from Rumors

"Verses from a song in the Musical "Raya and Skina" in the 1980s"

Believe or not many people now in Egypt think that the "Maadi slayer" is just a rumor made and spread by the regime in order to divert the public attention from important critical issues from corruption cases like "The Heidilena Gate" or like the constitution changes

Really I am afraid now that there is a matter of mistrust between the people and the government , people tend to not believe after long time

in the case of Maadi slayer , people tend more and more to believe that it is just rumors due to the facts that he isn't caught yet despite the great police presence in Maadi and the huge media coverage to the case ,overestimating it like some said. And they are right ,it is enough to read the name the media decided to give to that wacko calling him a slayer despite the fact that he didn't slay anyone till now at all !!

But you know it is not the mistake of the police that the media is overestimating ,in fact the interior ministry blamed the media for that and they are not totally wrong , media is fond of accidents and crimes like this , it brings high sales .

People disbelief to government statements comes from the fact that our governments through time have a long legacy of lies and deceptions , especially in the last 24 years due to the advance in media Egyptians found out that there many cases and crimes which were overestimated or even fabricated to keep the attention of the people in another different angel than the main events they should focus with

For example

In 1967 ,sorry 1967 ,the big lie of all times ,people since then in Egypt go for media sources from outside to get the news of inside ,The BBC Arabic service radio ,the Monte Carlo radio and even the Israel radio were the primary source of news , and even till now BBC radio is the primary source , my grand ma sister must start and end her day hearing the news of the BBC

If you remember the famous Hanan Turk's prostitution case , which turned out to be 100% fabrication made by the interior ministry then in the late 1990s to cover the great security fiasco that led to the tragic terrorist attack in Luxor in 1997 .

This is the most recent example I remember now in my mind but there are others and they are many .

This is an important defect the government and regime if they want to win the people must mend ,they must really be honest ,they keep using the word transparency over and over but they don't use it all ,it is just for public use,it is like a make up , bad make up no one believes.

You know the dangerous aspect of this is that the trust between the government and the people is needed in order to cross some catastrophes like the Bird flu

In the end it is the mistake of the people that they don't trust the government

But it is the mistake of the government that it is a trustworthy

  1. You are right. People have totally stopped believing the government. Remember how they kept covering up the rise in gas prices. Although people can see it everywhere, the government still stressed that gas prices are the same. And the big scandal after the thing was revealed in ELBeet Beetak TV programme. Then it turned out that they were liars, and they had planned to raise prices, not only of gas, but many other products.

Remember also the declarations about how Egypt is able to contain the Bird Flu virus. They kept saying they are well prepared if the virus enters Egypt and that medications are available. Even after the country was hit by the virus, they were still in denial, until 12 have died so far.

Also the fact of them using cover up stories is an old theme. It was even featured in the legendary Atef ElTayb film, Al-Horoob.

And as the old saying "Elli 3ala Raso Bat7a" goes, the ministers are keen on showing that everything is safe. Like the cabinet eating chicken during the Bird Flu crisis. The same thing happens now with the Health Minister.
    How pathetic!
